Diptyque Do Son Eau de Toilette 50ml $145

Quick Summary

If I had to sum up Diptyque Do Son Eau de Toilette in one sentence, I’d say it’s a rich white floral wrapped in soft musk—elegant, comforting, and never overly sweet.

A lot of people think of Do Son as a spring and summer fragrance, but for me, it’s especially beautiful in spring and on cold winter days. The deeper floral notes feel even more luxurious in cooler weather.

I’ve owned this perfume for years, and it’s still one of my signature scents. It’s also one of those fragrances I never seem to get tired of.

🌸 Main Notes

Official Notes: African Orange Flower • Iris • Pink Pepper • Tuberose • Musk • Benzoin

My Impression: Rich White Florals • Soft Rosy Nuance • Powdery Iris • Clean Musk • Luxury Soap

My Experience

I first bought Do Son when I was in college, and it’s been one of the most meaningful perfumes in my collection ever since.

Every spring, I naturally start reaching for it again. I’ve worn it so much over the years that some of the people closest to me now associate the scent with me.

Even though Do Son is usually described as a spring and summer fragrance, I actually love wearing it in winter too. The white florals feel warmer, richer, and more comforting in cold weather. On really hot summer days, though, it can feel a little too heavy for me, so I tend to save it for cooler mornings, evenings, or mild spring days.

One of my closest friends once told me that whenever she smells Do Son, she immediately thinks of me because I wore it so often in college. That was when I realized it had quietly become one of my signature scents.

First Impression

I’ve always loved elegant floral perfumes, especially the kind that feel rich without becoming too sweet.

The first time I sprayed Do Son, I was immediately drawn to its creamy white floral scent. It feels full and noticeable, but still polished.

Rose isn’t listed as one of the main official notes, but I personally pick up a soft rosy quality in it. It blends beautifully with the white florals and gives the fragrance a smooth, almost romantic feel.

The opening isn’t especially bright or fresh. It’s more soft, creamy, and refined right from the start.

How It Changes Throughout the Day

As Do Son dries down, the florals slowly become softer and the musk starts to come through.

The later stage is my favorite part. On my skin, the musk mixes with the white florals and that soft rosy feeling, creating a warm, cozy scent that reminds me of an expensive bar of soap.

It still smells floral, but not in a sharp or overwhelming way. The musk smooths everything out and makes the fragrance feel softer and more comforting as the day goes on.

Some white floral perfumes can become too strong after a few hours, but Do Son stays surprisingly balanced on me. It keeps its richness without becoming too much.

Performance

For an Eau de Toilette, the longevity is really good.

If I spray it in the morning, I can still smell it well into the afternoon, especially on my clothes and in my hair. It also leaves a soft scent trail without filling up the entire room.

I’ve tried the Eau de Parfum version too, but I personally prefer the Eau de Toilette. On my skin, the EDT feels softer, brighter, and a little easier to wear.

It still lasts well, so I don’t feel like I’m giving up much performance by choosing the lighter version.

When I Wear It

Do Son is one of those fragrances I can wear almost anywhere.

I’ve worn it to school, important meetings, weddings, dates, special events, and just during regular everyday life. It always feels polished, but never too formal.

I think it works year-round, but spring is still when I reach for it the most. The floral notes just feel especially right during that season.

What I Love

What I love most about Do Son is how rich and elegant the white florals feel.

It’s not light, watery, or sparkling. It has more depth and weight, but it still feels graceful rather than heavy or old-fashioned.

If you like fuller floral perfumes instead of airy ones, Do Son is really special.

I also love the musky dry down. The white florals become softer, warmer, and more comforting over time, which makes the fragrance feel even more luxurious.

I also own the matching Do Son Hair Mist, and I use it all the time. I usually spray it onto my hairbrush before brushing my hair, and the scent stays in my hair for hours.

It’s a softer way to wear Do Son, but it still smells beautiful throughout the day.

What Could Be Better

The biggest downside is definitely the price.

Do Son is a luxury fragrance, so it isn’t the easiest perfume to blind buy.

I also think people who prefer light, airy, citrusy, or very fresh florals may find it too rich, especially in hot weather.

I personally love that heavier floral style, but it’s definitely the kind of fragrance I would recommend testing first.

Who I Recommend It To

I think Do Son can work for a wide age range, from your 20s to your 50s and beyond.

I’d recommend it to anyone who loves elegant white florals, soft musk, and a fragrance that feels feminine without being overly sweet.

It also has a subtle unisex quality, so it doesn’t feel overly delicate or girly.

If you usually prefer bright citrus or gourmand scents, this may not be your style. But if you like rich florals with a soft, clean finish, it’s absolutely worth trying.

My Rating

★★★★★ (5/5)

Whenever I smell Do Son, I’m immediately taken back to my college days.

Along with the Chanel perfumes I shared in Part 1, this is one of the fragrances that holds the most memories for me.

I would absolutely buy it again. In fact, I plan to keep repurchasing it for years.

It’s one of those perfumes I can imagine wearing in my 30s, 40s, 50s, and even when I’m much older. It doesn’t feel tied to one age or one stage of life.

For me, Do Son isn’t just a beautiful fragrance. It’s a memory scent, and every time I wear it, it brings back a part of my life I still feel connected to.

Byredo La Tulipe 100ml $330

Quick Summary

If I had to describe Byredo La Tulipe in one sentence, I’d say it smells like a bouquet of freshly picked tulips straight from a flower field.

It’s fresh, clean, and floral without ever feeling too sweet or overpowering. If someone asked me to recommend an easy-to-wear floral perfume for spring, La Tulipe would probably be one of my first picks.

🌸 Main Notes

Official Notes: Rhubarb • Cyclamen • Freesia • Tulip • Green Notes • Vetiver • Woodsy Notes

My Impression: Fresh Tulips • Green Stems • Soft Florals • Clean Woods

My Experience

La Tulipe was my very first Byredo fragrance, and I bought it about six years ago.

It was also the perfume that made me fall in love with the brand. Even after trying lots of other floral fragrances over the years, I still think La Tulipe has something special.

Whenever someone asks me for a spring perfume that feels fresh without being too light or too strong, this is one of the first fragrances that comes to mind.

One thing I really like is how balanced it feels. Some floral perfumes disappear almost immediately, while others are so strong they give me a headache. La Tulipe sits right in the middle. It’s noticeable, but never too much.

First Impression

The first thing that stood out to me was how realistic it smelled.

Instead of smelling like a bouquet sitting in a vase, it reminds me of walking through a tulip field and picking fresh flowers straight from the ground.

You don’t just smell the petals—you also get that fresh green scent from the stems, which makes the whole fragrance feel much more natural.

I think that’s what makes La Tulipe different from a lot of other floral perfumes. The green notes keep everything fresh, so it never turns overly sweet or powdery.

How It Changes Throughout the Day

As it dries down, the floral sweetness becomes softer and the green notes become a little more noticeable.

Later in the day, I get more of the fresh stems along with soft woods and vetiver. Everything blends together really smoothly, and the fragrance stays clean from beginning to end.

The dry down is probably my favorite part. It has that effortless “clean person” smell without smelling like you’re trying too hard.

Performance

For a Byredo fragrance, I actually think the longevity is pretty good.

The projection isn’t huge, but I don’t mind that at all. It stays close enough for people around me to notice without filling up the whole room.

When I spray it in the morning, I can usually still smell it into the evening. It’s not a loud fragrance, but it’s reliable enough that I never feel like I need to keep reapplying it.

When I Wear It

This is one of the easiest perfumes in my collection to wear.

I’ll wear it to work, school, brunch with friends, dates, weddings, or even if I’m just running errands.

Spring is definitely when it shines the most, but I enjoy wearing it in summer too because it still feels light enough.

I also like layering it with other fragrances during fall. And every once in a while, I’ll wear it in winter because it somehow reminds me that spring isn’t too far away.

Honestly, very few floral perfumes work this well across all four seasons, but La Tulipe is one of them.

What I Love

What I love most is how natural it smells.

A lot of floral perfumes lean really sweet or powdery, but La Tulipe doesn’t. The green stem note keeps everything balanced, so it feels fresh, modern, and incredibly easy to wear.

Whenever someone mentions tulip perfumes, this is still the very first one I think of.

I also like how versatile it is. Even people who usually avoid floral fragrances might enjoy this one because the green notes make it feel much cleaner than a typical floral perfume.

What Could Be Better

The biggest downside is definitely the price.

Like most Byredo fragrances, it’s a luxury purchase.

I also think people who love bold, powerful perfumes might find it a little too soft. La Tulipe isn’t the kind of fragrance that walks into a room before you do. It’s much quieter than that.

Who I Recommend It To

I think La Tulipe is especially beautiful on people in their 20s because it feels fresh, clean, and effortless.

That said, I’d also recommend it to anyone in their 30s who likes elegant fragrances that aren’t overly dressed up.

If you’re looking for something that smells clean and sophisticated without grabbing everyone’s attention, I think you’ll really enjoy this one.

Personally, I don’t see myself buying another bottle—not because I don’t love it, but because it was my first Byredo fragrance, and I’d love to explore more of what the brand has to offer.

Even so, it’ll always have a special place in my collection.

My Rating

★★★★☆ (4/5)

La Tulipe is one of the most natural floral fragrances I’ve ever worn.

It really does smell like fresh tulips with crisp green stems, and that’s what makes it so different from a lot of other floral perfumes.

I gave it 4 out of 5 stars mostly because of the price. I genuinely love wearing it, but with so many beautiful fragrances from Byredo, I’d rather spend my next bottle on something new.

If you’re looking for a floral perfume that smells like real flowers instead of perfume, I think La Tulipe is absolutely worth trying.

Creed Silver Mountain Water 100ml $490

Quick Summary

If I had to describe Creed Silver Mountain Water in one sentence, I’d say it smells like cool mountain air mixed with a fresh ocean breeze.

It’s one of the most unique fresh fragrances I’ve ever owned. Crisp citrus, green notes, and soft musk come together in a way that feels clean, refreshing, and completely different from the typical citrus perfume.

The performance isn’t perfect, but honestly, the scent itself is so unique that I still keep reaching for it.

🌸 Main Notes

Official Notes: Bergamot • Mandarin Orange • Black Currant • Green Tea • Galbanum • Musk • Petitgrain • Sandalwood

My Impression: Ocean Breeze • Fresh Citrus • Green Leaves • Clean Laundry • Cool Mountain Air

My Experience

I bought Silver Mountain Water about four years ago while I was looking for a fresh fragrance that both men and women could wear.

The moment I sprayed it, I knew it wasn’t like the usual citrus perfumes I’d smelled before.

Even now, I still think it’s one of the most unique fragrances Creed has ever made.

Since it’s completely unisex, I think it smells great on just about anyone. I could easily see couples sharing the same bottle because it never feels too masculine or too feminine.

First Impression

Right away, it smells cool, green, and incredibly fresh.

The bergamot gives it a bright citrus opening, while the galbanum adds this crisp green smell that reminds me of fresh leaves.

Then there’s the black currant.

To me, it smells like slightly underripe berries that have been sitting on ice. It’s tart, a little bitter, and definitely different from the sweet fruity notes you usually find in perfumes.

One thing I’ve always noticed is that it reminds me of standing near the ocean on a cool day.

I know that’s not one of the official notes, but that’s the picture it always creates in my head.

How It Changes Throughout the Day

As it settles, the citrus becomes softer and everything starts to blend together.

This is actually my favorite part.

It reminds me of putting on a freshly washed white shirt and walking outside on a cold morning.

There’s something about it that smells incredibly clean—not like soap, but like fresh air.

Later on, the musk and woods slowly come through.

Nothing dramatic happens, but everything becomes smoother and a little warmer while still keeping that crisp, airy feeling.

Performance

If I’m being honest, performance is probably the weakest part of this fragrance.

Compared to some other Creed perfumes, it doesn’t project very much, and I wish it lasted longer.

Indoors, I can still catch little hints of it throughout the day because it stays close to my skin.

Outside, especially in warm weather, it seems to disappear much faster.

Even so, I still wear it because I haven’t found another fragrance that smells quite like it.

When I Wear It

This is one of those fragrances I never really have to think about.

I’ll wear it to work, school, the gym, dates, weddings, or even if I’m just running errands.

Late spring and summer are definitely my favorite seasons for it.

Surprisingly, I also enjoy wearing it during winter. The cool freshness somehow works really well in cold weather.

I even like wearing it on rainy days because it makes the whole fragrance feel even fresher.

What I Love

What I love most is how different it smells.

I’ve smelled a lot of citrus fragrances over the years, but I still haven’t found another one quite like Silver Mountain Water.

The mix of citrus, green tea, musk, and woods creates something that’s clean without smelling like a typical fresh cologne.

It also introduced me to Creed as a brand, and I still remember thinking,

“I’ve never smelled anything like this before.”

Every time I wear it, I picture cool mountain air mixed with a gentle ocean breeze.

It somehow fits the name perfectly.

What Could Be Better

The biggest downside is definitely the price.

Like most Creed fragrances, it’s expensive.

I also wish it lasted longer, especially if I’m spending the day outside.

The other thing is the black currant.

This is actually the only note I don’t completely love.

Sometimes it adds an interesting tartness, but other times it feels a little too strong for my taste.

I’ve had friends tell me it smells fresh and citrusy.

I’ve also had people say the black currant stands out a little too much.

I think it’s one of those notes that people either enjoy or don’t.

Who I Recommend It To

I think this works really well for both men and women.

I’d especially recommend it to anyone in their late 20s, 30s, or 40s who’s looking for a clean fragrance that’s a little different from the usual citrus scents.

It also makes a great couple’s fragrance because it sits right in the middle—not too masculine and not too feminine.

Would I buy another bottle?

Probably not.

Not because I don’t like it, but because I’d rather try some of Creed’s other fragrances next.

My Rating

★★★☆☆ (3/5)

Silver Mountain Water is still one of the most unique fresh fragrances I’ve ever worn.

I gave it 3 out of 5 stars because of three things:

  • It’s expensive.
  • I wish it lasted longer.
  • And personally, the black currant note isn’t my favorite.

Even with those downsides, I completely understand why this fragrance has such a loyal following.

If I had to describe it in one sentence, I’d simply say:

“It smells like cool mountain air with a fresh ocean breeze.”

Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin Cologne 30ml $95

Quick Summary

If I had to describe Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin in one sentence, I’d say it’s the kind of fresh citrus fragrance that instantly puts me in a good mood.

It’s bright, clean, and easy to wear, with just enough basil and green notes to keep it interesting. Even though Jo Malone isn’t exactly known for long-lasting perfumes, this has easily become one of the fragrances I wear the most.

🌸 Main Notes

Official Notes: Lime • Mandarin Orange • Bergamot • Basil • Lilac • Iris • Thyme • Vetiver • Patchouli

My Impression: Fresh Citrus • Green Herbs • Clean Air • Soft Vetiver • Natural Freshness

My Experience

I bought Lime Basil & Mandarin about a year ago while I was looking for a fresh fragrance for summer.

The first time I smelled it, I didn’t spend much time thinking about it—I just knew I wanted it.

Even though it’s one of the newer bottles in my collection, it’s probably the fragrance I’ve worn the most this summer.

Whenever I want to smell clean without smelling like I’m wearing a lot of perfume, this is usually the bottle I reach for.

First Impression

Before trying it, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect.

The word “basil” made me think it was going to smell really herbal or maybe even a little medicinal.

Instead, it surprised me.

The lime, mandarin, and bergamot make the opening feel bright and fresh, while the basil quietly sits in the background and gives everything a little more depth.

It doesn’t smell like cooking herbs at all.

It just makes the citrus feel a little cleaner and more interesting.

How It Changes Throughout the Day

As it dries down, the citrus becomes softer and everything starts to blend together.

To me, it smells like getting out of the shower and putting on freshly washed clothes.

It’s clean, comfortable, and incredibly easy to wear.

Later on, I notice more of the herbal notes along with the vetiver and patchouli.

Even though the fragrance stays light, it never feels flat. The woody base gives it just enough depth without taking away that fresh feeling.

Performance

Let’s be honest…

Jo Malone has never been famous for great longevity.

When I was in my early twenties, I owned almost every Jo Malone fragrance, and that was always my biggest complaint.

People even joke that Jo Malone fragrances disappear before you make it out the front door.

Back then, I wanted loud fragrances that lasted all day.

Now my taste has completely changed.

These days, I actually prefer perfumes that stay close to my skin. I don’t always want everyone around me to smell my perfume.

Maybe I’ve changed, or maybe my nose has changed too.

Either way, what used to bother me has actually become one of the reasons I enjoy wearing Jo Malone now.

When I Wear It

This is one of those fragrances that works almost anywhere.

I’ll wear it to work, school, the gym, while traveling, on dates, at weddings, or even if I’m just running errands.

Spring and summer are definitely my favorite seasons for it.

I don’t wear it as much during fall, but every once in a while I’ll reach for it in winter when I want something that reminds me of warmer weather.

What I Love

What I love most is how balanced it feels.

The citrus gets all the attention at first, but the basil quietly holds everything together.

That’s what makes this fragrance different from a lot of other citrus perfumes I’ve tried.

It’s bright without being sharp.

Fresh without being boring.

Simple without feeling plain.

It’s also one of those fragrances that instantly makes me feel refreshed every time I spray it.

What Could Be Better

The biggest downside is still the longevity.

If you’re looking for a fragrance that projects across the room and lasts twelve hours, this probably isn’t it.

But if you like softer fragrances that stay close to your skin, you might actually end up loving that about it.

Honestly, that’s exactly what happened to me.

Who I Recommend It To

I honestly think almost anyone could wear this fragrance.

Whether you’re in your twenties, thirties, or older, it has a clean, timeless smell that never feels too young or too mature.

It’s also completely unisex.

I’ve had people tell me it smells like fresh citrus.

I’ve also had someone describe it as smelling like vitamins, which honestly made me laugh—but I kind of understood what they meant.

The citrus is bright, but the basil, vetiver, and patchouli stop it from smelling too simple.

If you’re looking for an everyday fragrance that’s clean, effortless, and easy to wear, this is one I’d recommend without hesitation.

My Rating

★★★★★ (5/5)

Lime Basil & Mandarin reminds me how much my taste in fragrance has changed over the years.

When I was younger, I only cared about projection and longevity.

Now I care much more about how a fragrance makes me feel.

This one always makes me feel fresh, clean, and put together.

Even though it doesn’t last as long as I’d like, I still gave it 5 out of 5 stars because it’s one of those perfumes I never get tired of wearing.

Sometimes the best fragrance isn’t the loudest one.

It’s the one you keep reaching for without even thinking about it.

Jo Malone Basil & Neroli Cologne 30ml $95

Quick Summary

If I had to describe Jo Malone Basil & Neroli in one sentence, I’d say it smells like fresh basil growing in a cool flower garden.

It’s clean, fresh, a little herbal, and much softer than most neroli fragrances I’ve tried. If neroli usually feels a little too strong or overwhelming for you, I think this is one of the easiest ones to wear.

🌸 Main Notes

Official Notes: Basil • Neroli • White Musk • Vetiver

My Impression: Fresh Basil Leaves • Orange Blossom • Cool Air • Clean White Shirt • Soft Herbs

My Experience

I bought Basil & Neroli not long after buying Lime Basil & Mandarin.

After falling in love with the basil note in Lime Basil, I got curious to see how Jo Malone used basil in another fragrance.

Even though I bought them around the same time, they couldn’t feel more different.

I still wear Basil & Neroli quite a bit during spring and summer, especially when I want something fresh with a little more herbal character.

If Lime Basil & Mandarin is bright and citrusy, Basil & Neroli feels greener, calmer, and a little more aromatic.

First Impression

The first thing I notice is fresh basil.

It reminds me of big green basil leaves with soft orange blossoms hiding in the background.

There’s also this cool feeling that makes the whole fragrance smell really refreshing.

Sometimes I even pick up a little bit of earthiness, almost like walking through a garden early in the morning.

Compared to Lime Basil & Mandarin, this one is definitely more herbal.

The basil stands out much more, while the neroli softens everything without taking over.

How It Changes Throughout the Day

As it dries down, everything becomes much cleaner.

Honestly, it reminds me of putting on a freshly washed white shirt.

I think that’s mostly because of the herbal notes.

The fragrance never really turns sweet.

Instead, it stays crisp, clean, and fresh from beginning to end.

Later on, the white musk and vetiver slowly come through, making everything feel smoother without losing that airy freshness.

Performance

Like most Jo Malone fragrances, longevity is still the biggest downside.

The opening is actually stronger than I expected.

For the first hour or so, the basil and neroli are surprisingly noticeable.

After that, it sits much closer to my skin.

Personally, I don’t mind softer fragrances anymore.

I’d rather smell clean than have my perfume fill an entire room.

When I Wear It

This is another fragrance I can wear almost anywhere.

I’ll wear it to work, school, while traveling, at the gym, on dates, at weddings, or just running errands.

Spring and summer are definitely when I wear it the most.

That said, I still enjoy it in winter because the cool herbal notes somehow feel really fresh against cold weather.

What I Love

What I like most is how easy the neroli is to wear.

I’ve tried a lot of neroli fragrances, and some of them can feel a little overwhelming after a while.

This one doesn’t.

The basil keeps everything balanced, so the neroli stays soft instead of becoming too floral.

I’ve also compared it to Tom Ford Neroli Portofino, and personally, I find Basil & Neroli much easier to wear every day.

Neroli Portofino feels brighter and louder.

Basil & Neroli feels calmer, cleaner, and much more relaxed.

I also like that it has a little more depth than most fresh citrus fragrances.

The herbs give it enough weight to feel sophisticated without ever becoming heavy.

What Could Be Better

The biggest downside is still the longevity.

I also understand why some people say neroli smells a little like skincare products or cosmetics.

Every now and then, I notice that too.

There are days when the neroli feels just a little stronger than I’d like.

That’s why I always recommend trying this one on your own skin before buying a bottle.

Who I Recommend It To

I think just about anyone could wear Basil & Neroli, but personally I think it suits people in their 30s especially well.

The herbal notes make it feel a little more mature than a typical fresh citrus fragrance, while the neroli keeps everything light and approachable.

It’s completely unisex, and I think it makes a great couple’s fragrance too.

If you enjoy green, herbal, and aromatic fragrances, there’s a good chance you’ll really like this one.

If I had to sum it up in one sentence…

It smells like fresh basil growing in a cool flower garden.

My Rating

★★★☆☆ (3/5)

Basil & Neroli is one of the cleanest neroli fragrances I’ve worn.

The mix of basil, neroli, herbs, and musk creates a fresh scent that’s elegant without trying too hard.

I gave it 3 out of 5 stars for two reasons.

First, I wish it lasted longer.

Second, there are times when the neroli feels a little stronger than I personally like.

Interestingly, I bought both Basil & Neroli and Lime Basil & Mandarin because I wanted to explore basil as a fragrance note.

After wearing both for quite a while, I almost always reach for Lime Basil & Mandarin first.

The brighter citrus fits my personal taste a little better.

That said, if you’re looking for a softer, more herbal take on neroli, I still think Basil & Neroli is well worth trying.

Final Thoughts

And that’s it for Part 2 of my Spring & Summer Perfume Collection!

Every fragrance in this post is one I’ve bought with my own money, worn for years, and genuinely enjoyed. None of these are first impressions—they’re all perfumes I’ve lived with and kept reaching for over time.

One thing I’ve realized over the years is that your taste in fragrance can change a lot.

When I was younger, I was drawn to stronger perfumes that lasted all day. These days, I find myself enjoying cleaner, softer, and more natural scents much more. Looking back at my collection, I can almost remember different stages of my life through each bottle.

That’s probably one of my favorite things about collecting perfume.

It’s not just about smelling good.

Every fragrance ends up holding a memory.

Thank you so much for reading both Part 1 and Part 2 of this series. I really hope my reviews helped if you’re looking for a new signature scent—or even if you just enjoy reading about perfume as much as I do.

Next time, I’ll be sharing my favorite fragrances for fall and winter.

I’ll be talking about the perfumes I actually wear once the weather gets colder, including warm woods, cozy musks, rich florals, and a few other favorites that really come alive during those seasons.

So if you’re already thinking ahead to cooler weather, I hope you’ll come back for the next part.

Until then, thanks for reading, and I hope you find a fragrance that brings you as many great memories as these have brought me.

See you in the next review! 🌿
